Chemical and microbiological testing of drinking water, groundwater, surface water, bathing water and wastewater — with clear interpretation and legally usable reports.
Water testing - accredited analysis by LITOLAB

Understanding Your Water Quality

Water quality influences public health, production processes, agriculture and environmental protection.

LITOLAB provides precise chemical and microbiological testing of drinking water, raw water, domestic hot water, groundwater, surface water, pool water and wastewater. Our analyses are designed to meet legal requirements, support risk assessment and give clients the information they need to make safe, reliable decisions.

Whether you manage a water utility, run an industrial facility, operate a pool, or rely on a private well, our team ensures that every sample is processed according to accredited methods, resulting in clear, comparable and trustworthy data.

Who Depends on Our Water Testing

Our water analysis services support:

  • Families and private well owners
  • Water utilities and distribution operators
  • Municipalities and public institutions
  • Industrial and manufacturing companies
  • Food and beverage producers
  • Operators of pools, spas and recreational facilities
  • Environmental & hydrogeological consultants

Typical Needs and Situations

Clients usually contact us when:

  • A new well or house requires water testing for building approval
  • Drinking water needs to be checked for safety or legal compliance
  • Pool or wellness facilities must meet hygiene standards
  • Wastewater must be monitored for emission limits
  • Raw water sources require regular monitoring
  • Contamination, odour, turbidity or taste problems appear

Regulatory Framework of Water Testing

We design our water test packages to meet the requirements of Czech water and hygiene legislation:

  • Decree No. 252/2004 Coll., on hygienic requirements for drinking and hot water and the frequency and scope of drinking water inspection – including the latest version requiring PFAS and HAA determination in full analyses.
  • Water Act – Act No. 254/2001 Coll., and related implementing regulations for protecting and monitoring surface and groundwater.
  • Act No. 274/2001 Coll. on Public Water Supply and Sewerage Systems, which regulates public water supply and sewerage systems and their operation.
  • Government Decree No. 401/2015 Coll. (limits for pollution of surface and wastewater) applied together with the Water Act for wastewater discharges.
  • Decree No. 238/2011 Coll., on hygienic requirements for swimming pools, saunas and similar facilities, which sets quality criteria for bathing and pool water.

Where needed, we adapt the test scope to reflect specific conditions in the client’s permit or monitoring plan.

Practical Applications of Water Testing

  • Commissioning or approval of new wells, boreholes or water supply systems.
  • Regular monitoring of drinking water, domestic hot water in networks, buildings or public facilities.
  • Control of raw water quality for water treatment plants.
  • Checking bathing and pool water for public or private facilities.
  • Monitoring of industrial and municipal wastewater to demonstrate compliance with emission limits.

Frequently asked questions

We offer test packages that match the exact scope required by building authorities or public health offices, including microbiological and chemical parameters.
Yes — we provide advanced analyses including PFAS, glyphosate, polar pesticides, THMs and other targeted contaminants.
Standard turnaround is typically within a few working days; express options are available depending on the parameters.
Yes, for most water types. However, some official purposes (e.g., compliance checks) may require professionally collected samples.
